With one of the Little Fellas turning FIVE today, Mrs PP and myself set to making up this fruit salad variation of a birthday cake to send to kindy as the communal ‘share fruit’. From what I understand it went down a treat.
At its core it was two wheels of watermelon layered and cut into slices. This made it easier for the kids to take pieces of the fruit. Then it was decorated with slices of strawberry, fresh blueberries, and from our own garden some mint leaves, nasturtium flowers, borage and marigold flowers. Oh, and some Cape Gooseberries cut in half.
It was rather simple to put together. Effective and yummy for the whole class.
